Yoga Nidra & Qi Gong

Guided practices held in our salt room, designed to help you fully unwind.
Yoga Nidra invites deep rest through stillness and guided awareness, while Qi Gong brings gentle, mindful movement to restore flow and balance in the body.
Two very different practices, one shared outcome: a calmer mind, a softer body, and a more regulated nervous system.
You’ll leave feeling lighter, looser, and deeply restored.

Why Practise in the Salt Room?

The salt room is a calming space on its own. It's dimly lit, quiet, and kept at a comfortable 22°C. During both classes, the halo generator gently disperses pharmaceutical-grade dry salt aerosol into the air, supporting your respiratory health and skin at the same time. One session, two benefits.

Yoga Nidra Meditation (Hammock)

1 hour · A$35 · Held in the salt room

For the Mind That Won't Switch Off

You know you need rest, but rest doesn't come easily. Your body is tired, your mind keeps running, and advice like "just relax" or "try meditation" hasn't quite landed. Yoga Nidra meets you where you are. You lie back, supported by a hammock, close your eyes, and a guide does the rest. Think of it as your nervous system being walked, gently, from overdrive into deep, conscious rest. And because the session's held in the salt room, you're breathing in therapeutic salt air the whole time.

What is Yoga Nidra?

Often called "yogic sleep", Yoga Nidra is a systematic guided relaxation practice. Unlike movement-based yoga classes, Yoga Nidra is done lying down. In our sessions, you're supported by a yoga hammock for weightless comfort. Your guide walks you through stages of body awareness, breath, imagery and intention, gently shifting your mind from waking consciousness into a deeply restful state somewhere between sleep and awareness.

No yoga experience needed. No special clothing. Just a willingness to slow down.

Benefits

Deep rest. A single session can feel as restorative as several hours of sleep.

Nervous system reset. Activates the parasympathetic response and reduces stress hormones.

Better sleep. Regular practice helps break patterns of insomnia and restless nights.

Less anxiety. The guided format gives your mind a gentle focus, and the internal chatter quiets.

Halotherapy in the same session. Respiratory and skin benefits, no extra booking.

Accessible to everyone. No fitness level, flexibility, age or experience required.

What to Expect

Wear comfortable, clean clothing. You'll be in the hammock for the whole session. Arrive 5–10 minutes early. Skip strong fragrances or perfumes (salt room environment). Blankets and bolsters are available.

Sessions run for one hour. The halo generator operates throughout. Some people drift in and out of light sleep. That's completely normal and you still get the benefit.

Qigong for Over 50s

45 minutes · A$20 · Held in the salt room

Gentle Movement for a Body That Wants to Keep Going

Staying mobile, steady on your feet, and breathing well becomes more important with age, not less. Qigong is a slow, flowing practice that brings breath, movement and mindfulness together. It's done standing (with modifications if needed), and it's especially suited to the over-50s who want to keep their joints moving, their balance strong, and their nervous system calm.

What is Qigong?

Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is a traditional Chinese practice that pairs gentle, flowing movements with controlled breath and mental focus. Think of it as a cousin of Tai Chi: slower, simpler, and easier to learn. No prior experience required.

Our class is held in the salt room, so you're breathing in dry salt aerosol the whole time you move. Your respiratory system gets looked after while you do.

Benefits

Balance and stability. Reduces fall risk, improves confidence on your feet.

Joint mobility and flexibility. Especially shoulders, hips, knees and spine.

Healthy circulation. Gentle movement supports cardiovascular health.

A calmer nervous system. Breath-led practice settles stress.

Halotherapy in every session. Respiratory and skin support at no extra cost.

Social and welcoming. Small class, friendly community.

What to Expect

Wear comfortable, loose clothing and socks or bare feet). Arrive 5–10 minutes early. The class runs for 45 minutes and can be adjusted for anyone who'd rather sit for parts of the practice.

Note: Halotherapy is generally well tolerated, but isn't suitable for everyone. Please check with your GP if you have a significant respiratory or cardiac condition. See the Salt Therapy page for full contraindications.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need yoga or qigong experience?

No. Both classes are taught from scratch. You'll be comfortable from your first session.

How is Yoga Nidra different from meditation?

Yoga Nidra follows a specific guided structure (body scan, breath awareness, imagery, intention) and is always practised lying down. People who struggle with seated meditation often find Yoga Nidra much easier.

Is halotherapy safe for everyone?

Halotherapy is generally well tolerated. It isn't recommended for people with active lung disease, influenza with fever, active tuberculosis, third-stage emphysema, cardiac insufficiency, lung cancer, or any contagious condition. If in doubt, please check with your GP.

What if I fall asleep during Yoga Nidra?

Totally fine. Your subconscious still benefits from the practice even if you drift off.

Can I do Qigong if I'm not yet 50?

The class is designed for the over-50s, but anyone who wants a gentle, slow-paced class is welcome. Just have a quick chat with Sue before booking.
